On Directing:
Cutting his teeth as a director in Tampa, Ryan had the privilege of collaborating with artists from all walks of life to create meaningful, theatrical experiences for audiences of all ages. He has directed the regional premieres of two shows (MMF by David Kimple, Now Circa Then by Carly Mensch, Silver Meteor Gallery), established classics (A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare In Detroit and Our Town by Thornton Wilder, Theatre eXceptional) as well as original work for Fringe Theatre audiences (N.Y.S-ewer Gator, How To L.O.V.E: A Handbook For Imaginary Friends, Tampa International Fringe Festival).

Rehearsals are for mess, and Ryan thrives on facilitating organic and fun processes that welcome the agency of the artists in the room. He's a professional fan boy at heart and his work reflects the love he has for anyone he has the chance to work by, for and with.

Mark Leib on MMF for Creative Loafing Tampa
"Ryan Bernier’s direction emphasizes flesh-and-blood naturalism; what’s especially winning is his treatment of the sexuality bonding the characters as only one item among the many that create their connection. "
Peter Nason on Now Circa Then for Broadwayworld.com
"Director Ryan Bernier guides his actors well... his costume design is unobjectionable, and his direction is generally sharp and kinetic.
This is a perfect play to introduce yourself to the Silver Meteor Gallery."
